"Our long-time partnership with MRPP has been vital in helping grow Wake County's $1.2 billion visitor industry. Through MRPP's extensive research, media expertise and cutting edge approaches, the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau has been able to maximize our advertising dollar and receive a significant return on investment."

-Martin Armes, Director of Communications and Marketing

The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau's account showcases several of MRPP's strengths: travel and tourism expertise, and a-la-carte services. After more than a decade of working together, MRPP now manages the Bureau's media budgets, develops the annual media plan, researches and analyzes all media, negotiates the media schedules and recommends added-value and promotional opportunities.

The relationship began in 1990 when the Bureau had a small staff (and budget) and wanted limited media services--not a full-fledged advertising agency. They selected MRPP because of their expertise on the planning and strategy side. The Bureau just paid for the services it needed. But as the staff grew, along with the budget, the Bureau turned over their entire media campaign to MRPP. Their markets include local, statewide and national consumer advertising, meetings and conventions, sports and group tours.

Over the years, MRPP has worked with the Bureau to strategize and find the best ways to attract visitors and generate leads for this second-tier destination. They've learned how to target the visitor that is most likely to make the greater Raleigh area their choice. MRPP has recently used its Internet expertise to launch an e-mail campaign and generate leads for the Bureau. They have worked on several promotional projects, including the last Holiday campaign where MRPP used custom designed prize packages (event tickets, restaurant meals and hotel stays) to leverage trade radio schedules worth 10x the prize value!

With a strong track record in tourism, MRPP excels in knowing tourism publications and industry trends. The GRCVB was just the first of many travel and tourism accounts MRPP has managed over the years.
