Sue Jamieson Toth
President "The media budget is usually the largest part of the advertising campaign. You should be working directly with the people designing and managing your budget. At MRPP, senior management is involved day-to-day.
The numerous agencies in which Sue has been involved during her career in advertising have added a great deal of breadth to her experience. Starting as a graphic artist for the now defunct Raleigh Journal Magazine, Sue gained a basic understanding of style, mechanical requirements and the angst creative directors go through trying to make everyone happy. Sues love for numbers and puzzles led her into media and through several full-service agencies, including Howard, Merrell and Partners, where she was hired by Sheila Ogle. This background in graphics improved Sues ability to communicate with creative types when she moved to the media department.
Sue left Howard, Merrell to gain experience at other agencies while Sheila was building her own media agency, Media Research, Planning and Placement. Sheila and Sue renewed their professional collaboration when Sue came to work for MRPP in 1993 to handle the agencys first patient recruitment campaign. Patient volunteers for clinical drug studies had traditionally been recruited through print, primarily newspaper advertising. By introducing the impact and reach potential of television and radio, the recruitment time was cut dramatically.
In 1999, Sue was promoted to Executive Vice President of MRPP, Inc., adding administrative duties to her responsibilities of supervising the media staff and developing new business plans. In August of 2001, Sue became president of MRPP, as Sheila Ogle stepped down from much of the day-to-day management of the company. Sue remains very involved in the management of the media staff, in addition to directing the business at large.
Sues professional affiliations have included Ad Club, the Medical Marketing Association and Capital Area Media Professionals (CAMP). She was also a founding board member of the Triangle Interactive Marketing Association (TIMA), an organization begun in 2000 to address and direct the emerging interactive side of advertising.
Nancy Brinson
Media Supervisor "Anyone can place a newspaper ad or call a station and place an order. Our buyers' and planners' expertise lies in not only making the right choices, but in going beyond the cpp. We know what to ask, how much to ask for and when to push harder.
Nancy Brinson brings over 20 years of extensive media research, planning and buying experience to MRPP. She was first affiliated with MRPP while working as a media consultant during the latter part of the 1990s. Also during that time, Nancy was lending her media expertise to various advertising agencies in the Triangle area, as well as MRPP. While consulting with other agencies, she planned and placed media on behalf of Jiffy Lube (Jacor), The Richard E. Jacobs Group Malls, BTI, College Foundation of NC, Time Warner Cable, Central Carolina Bank (CCB), Biscuitville, Capitol Broadcasting and many others.
Prior to 1995, Nancy served in supervisory positions in the media departments of three major full-service advertising agencies: DDB Needham (Seattle), Chiat Day (Seattle) and Richardson Myers & Donofrio (Baltimore). While working with these agencies, she was involved in developing and implementing the national and regional media strategies for high profile accounts such as McDonalds, Holland America Cruise Lines, Nordstrom, West One Bank, JanSport, Pacific Northwest Bell, Alaska Airlines, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Marriott Hotels and Crown Petroleum.
Nancy has a well-rounded background with all types of media and is known for her strategic thinking and creative solutions to clients media needs.
Nancy works closely with all six MRPP media teams; leading the strategy sessions with the planners, the bull sessions with the buyers, as well as lending her experience to the development of media plans and presentations.
